about

*The fundraiser is over as of Feb 1, 2021. Thank you for your support. Together we raised $575 for Anahuacalmecac and The Transgender District SF

> About the Mixtape <

I wrote and produced these four tracks in the span of two weeks during July 2020, following a long period of writer's block and stress over my project [and really the general state of the world if we're being frank].

The tracks came about as a collaboration between myself and Melina Paulli, a talented designer, artist, and friend from growing up in Singapore. Starting with her collages as inspiration, I created four original scores based on my emotional reaction to the different imagery. The process helped me put aside my ego and reconnect with the innocence, introversion, and hope at the heart of my creativity. The result was four shining moments of vulnerable optimism in what then seemed a sea of gloom.

My intention with packaging them as the 'Made in 2020' mixtape is to provide a public record of the struggles I fought to find my optimism in this difficult year. I hope it allows the listener to feel reassured knowing that it's okay to struggle in this way. I firmly believe that one should never be ashamed to cling even to the most desperate shred of hope.

Click through each track to see them with their individual artwork. All purchases come with the artwork.

> About the Fundraiser <

The Made in 2020 Mixtape was part of a fundraiser for The Transgender District's initiatives in San Francisco and the benefit of homeless indigenous students at Anahuacalmecac school in Los Angeles. We raised $575 for the two causes before the fundraiser ended on Feb 1, 2021.

The Transgender District:
"The mission of the Transgender District is to create an urban environment that fosters the rich history, culture, legacy, and empowerment of transgender people and its deep roots in the southeastern Tenderloin neighborhood. The transgender district aims to stabilize and economically empower the transgender community through ownership of homes, businesses, historic and cultural sites, and safe community spaces." www.transgenderdistrictsf.com/about

Give Semillas 2020: Kalli Urgent Relief
"Co-founded by Indigenous Mexican educators born in Mexico, Semillas embodies a dream of an entire movement, the Chicano Movement - for an alternative education capable of fostering dignity in our children through autonomous intellect and knowledge. Moreover, Semillas represents a community-based response to the international and local call for Indigenous education guided by the UN-DRIP as a model for decolonization by Indigenous Peoples across the continent"

"Since the beginning of the pandemic Tzicatl Community Development Corporation and Semillas Sociedad Civil have been engaged with the Community Reclamation Coalition upon a widespread call to action to support all of our community residents especially Indigenous, undocumented and houseless during the pandemic.

Today, Anahuacalmecac is reaching out to our support communities to help us raise enough money for the Winter Solstice Kalli Urgent Relief: an effort to uplift resiliency in our communities by providing immediate economic hardship relief for our students suffering from houselessness..."
